Weight Losing 1 : Foods and drinks

We all seek fitness. Fitness brings us better postures, better first impression, better stamina, better concentration, etc.

However, nowadays we are surrounded by high-calorie goods: convenience stores scattered all around our neighborhoods supplying us chocolates, potato chips, and sodas at a low price twenty four-seven all year long attacking our taste buds. Not to mention all the fast food restaurants bombarding us with greasy, oily, sweet-to-the-bone meals. It seems that there’s no escape from all those overwhelming nutrition.

In fact, we don’t need that much calories to keep our body functioning. The excessive calories that we don’t use up will be transformed into fat and stored mainly on our bellies. In ancient times our ancestors had a hard time gaining calories, way more difficult and dangerous than us. Literally, they had to fight with their lunches or dinners, probably holding spears and rocks to fight against the enormous mammoths or the fierce saber-toothed tigers. Casualties were inevitable; sometimes people became their dinner’s dinner. If the hunting failed, people would suffer from starvation, at that time human bodies developed the preserving system of fat, transforming excessive calories to help people withstand the starvation.

One gram of carbohydrates or protein can generate 4Kcal (Kcal=one thousand calories), while fat generating a nearly doubled sum of 9 Kcal. In addition, the alcohol which shows up in all kinds of social gatherings can generate 7Kcal/gram. According to the calculation, we should avoid fat and alcohol and consume only carbohydrates and proteins, right? Well, it’s easy said than done. The taste of the foods can strongly affect our judgments. For example, too many tasty foods have something to do with fat: gratins, cheese burgers, juicy steaks, juicy pork, etc.

They are just so luring. Most of us enjoy liquor with friends on holidays. It would be a bit of boring to drink without some side dishes, perhaps some chicken wings or some french-fries will do, double up the joy, and double up the calories as well. Not to mention mind blurred by the power of alcohol, dinking and eating and chatting all night along can end up stacking a huge amount of calories.

Here are some clues: white powder, enticing, addiction. Anything rings a bell? Well, the answer is not cocaine, it’s a similar substance called sugar. In early ages, sugar were extracted from sugar canes and processed in complicated ways. Only the rich were afford to enjoy them. As the time went on to the industrial age, sugar could be synthesized, largely decreasing the production cost and time, lowering the price so the majority could enjoy them as well. When consuming sugar, it stimulates the rewarding core in brain, gives you the feeling of winning a champion or having sex. It does not destroy you like cocaine, but the cheerfulness acquired by sugar is like a tide going up and down. You feel great at first but depressed later and a sense of loss. That kind of bad mood propels you to consume more sugar, forming a bad circulation.
